Kyle- Based on personal experience, the IoT makes life at home much easier and is rather simple to use. There are many different devices that can be connected to the Internet. With smartphones being the norm today, we can just download an app on the phone and change something in the house. Overall, for those hesitant to get involved, I would suggest giving it a try!
Michele- As a self proclaimed traditionalist with an affection for old school technology, I’m hesitant every time a new IoT device shows up in the market. Having said that, I’m often charmed by the benefits and convenience it provides upon actually testing it out. For example, I’ll always prefer my record player over Alexa for playing music, but there are times when I don’t have the energy to dig for the album I want to play. Additionally, Alexa may eventually become so advanced that it may be able to predict what I want to listen to before I do (find video referenced in class).
Joseph– IoT can be easier in terms of housing convenience but IoT expenses can be very high. The Internet can be really beneficial to its users. With modern technology, we can connect even more devices to the Internet.
Bryce – As a bit of a technology fan, I have been a supporter of IoT for years. I have always been excited when I hear that a new device is available, and I am a proud owner of many different examples. Eventually (eg. when I’m no longer a broke college student), I hope to connect the majority of my home devices, accessories, and appliances to the internet in order to make them more efficient and easier to use.
